Our local Parish Councils and Church community are joining together to offer support during this difficult time.
We have set up special phone numbers and e-mail addresses so that people in the Dubber area needing help or support while isolated will have a point of contact. There will be two support groups, one under the Langton and one under the Worth umbrella: residents of Harmans Cross should contact the Worth Group while Kingston residents may contact either group.
The contact details below can be used either by those wishing to seek support or those wishing to offer their services as volunteers. We will aim to offer the following services:
- Picking up shopping
- A friendly phone call or ‘Face Time’
- Posting mail
- Urgent supplies, including medicine
We also need volunteers to act as ‘duty officer’ on our rota to take phone calls/e-mails. They will be supplied with a phone and access to the relevant e-mail support address.
For the Langton support group, phone 07388 728177 or e-mail email@example.com
For the Worth support group, phone 07423 305060 or e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org
Langton Village Store will closing (temporarily, we hope); ring to see what stock they still have available (01929 475654). Dragon’s Bakery (01929 480400) and the Village Stores and Post Office (01929 481292 – email@example.com) in Corfe have confirmed that they will deliver to Worth, Harmans Cross, Kingston and Langton.
Please see below the link to the Council’s privacy notice for those prepared to share their contact details for the support group.
There is now a Swanage- based local delivery service – see below.
Dorset Council has set up a community response page with useful links which can be accessed here:
