Saturday 2nd December proved a truly collective and productive day when Friends of the Woodland Trail lent their time to a ˜tidy up’ of the area. The reward was hot drinks and hot mince pies. The list of tasks that were undertaken included:
- Laying of woodchip path continued
- Strimming of orchard area
- Weeding of hedge area and tying up of hedge saplings
- Building a solitary bee bank
- Apple tree maintenance
A big thanks to all who helped, including the children.
Next year we can look forward to having our first apple tasting days and work will continue to improve the area for bio-diversity.
Have a wander through the Woodland Trail ! – look for the little gate just below the allotment fence in Cole’s ground, or start in the orchard to the left of the end of Garfield Lane.
