Love Langton Autumn Litter Pick. Friday 6th, Saturday 7th, Monday 9th November

1. Love Langton Autumn Litter Pick Fri 6th, Sat 7th and Mon 9th November

Our volunteers plan to litter pick in and around Langton Matravers and Acton over the course of the dates above to give the parish an Autumn tidy-up and with Remembrance Sunday on Sunday 8th in mind. If you would like to lend a hand on any of these mornings (9.15-approx 12noon/12.30pm),please email and the organisers will respond with details for the each of the three litterpicks. Covid 19 hygiene and safety precautions will be in place and for this reason the volunteers will not be meeting as a group. Any help would be much appreciated!

2. Bin Your Butt campaign

Litter-free Purbeck (of which Love Langton Litter Campaign is part) has teamed up with Wimborne War on Waste and Litter Free Dorset to run a campaign around some of our local bus stops  to highlight the environmental damage caused by cigarette stubs, which are the single most littered item on the planet.  A4 campaign stickers have been placed in the bus stops opposite the Langton Village Store and by The Ship to encourage smokers to bin their butts and these two sites will be monitored for research purposes. Cigarette stubs not only leach toxic chemicals when wet but the filters are made of plastics; both pose a threat to marine life when they get washed into street drains and then out to sea.
